The Model P50 PipeTool™ offers the proven reliability and performance of the RD500 Receiver developed by Heitman Laboratories about 19 years ago. This unit will be our most cost effective pipe locator system and we believe the most cost effective plastic pipe locator system available. Reliability is assured because we are using the technologies and internal components that have been field tested for over 20 years in locations all around the world. The P50 comes with a special carry case that has compartments for the receiver with the spike installed, a hard surface plate, and the headphones needed for use.

The receiver is supplied with a 9volt battery and is ready for use as soon as it is removed from the case, eliminating the need for any external power sources. We are very pleased to announce the availability of the new and improved, next generation receiver for locating plastic water pipes. The system is called the Model P100 PipeTool™ Plastic Water Pipe Locator.

The Model PI00 PipeTool™ offers improved reliability and performance over the RD500 Receiver developed by Heitman Laboratories about 19 years ago. Reliability is improved by removing the external controls, most of the cables and the meter from the probe pole and providing a highly reliable slick pole with only a single push-button membrane switch on the top. The most frequent items repaired on RD500 Receivers are broken control cables, control housings, meters and headphones. All of these items have been removed from the probe pole and relocated in a separate receiver.

The small meter utilized in the RD500 Receiver has been replaced with a large digital bar graph display that improves the location resolution. The bar graph is contained in a rugged case that may be worn on a belt clip or hand-held. The Probe Pole and the Receiver are connected using wireless radio technology. We have added frequency (F+, F-) adjustments to improve the clarity of the received signal and increase location range. Some PI00 customers have reported location ranges up to double those provided by their RD500 Receivers. The P100 is fully compatible with all PipeTool TransOndes kits. PIPETOOL™ TRANSMITTER KITS

Heitman Labs has designed three (3) different transmitter kits that are compatible with either the Model P50 PipeTool™ or the Model P100 PipeTool™ pipe locator systems when used in the proper application. These kits include the hoses, fittings, and adapters most often needed for quick connection at the source. Transmitters are connected at sprinkler heads, water meter bases, and fire hydrants/cleanouts. They are color coded for ease of identification at the job site as they are calibrated specifically prior to shipment in order to provide the maximum performance for each application.

TransOndes

The pulse wave generating devices or thumpers that must be coupled with our line of pipe locating equipment are known as “TransOndes”. Our “TransOndes” have been developed and designed specifically to be utilized with the Heitman Laboratories pipe locators and provide the capability to use our pipe locating systems over the broadest possible range of water systems from the lowest pressures and pipe sizes to those connected to fire hydrants and water mains. They provide suitable pulse waves for these different applications while minimizing the risk of damage to pipe, fittings, connections, and sub-strata. For this reason, our “TransOndes” come in 3 different color coded applications with factory calibration and presets that are not field adjustable.  When these “TransOndes “ are coupled with the PipeTool  transmitter kits and our Model P50 PipeTool™ or Model P100 PipeTool™ they may be used to effectively locate plastic pipe in a wide variety of systems and locations.

Green TransOnde / Low power / Sprinkler   Call for Pricing & Availability
The Low Power TransOnde is color coded green and has been calibrated for use on low power systems such as sprinkler systems etc.  This TransOnde is sometimes referred to as a hose bib TransOnde but please keep in mind that we do not recommend  connection  to any source that is directly connected to systems inside walls, floors, attics, or other internal locations as the vibration created during use may damage existing pipe and or fixtures.

Yellow TransOnde / Medium Power / Meter Pit   Call for Pricing & Availability
The medium power TransOnde is color coded yellow and has been calibrated for use in medium power systems such as the meter pit hook-up.

Red TransOnde / High Power / Fire Hydrant   Call for Pricing & Availability
The high power TransOnde is color coded red and has been calibrated for use in high power systems such as direct to fire hydrants. Please keep in mind that TransOndes can be used in higher power locations without risk, although the performance will be reduced, but may never be used in a lower power location as the pressure wave generated will be far too powerful. Please call us if you have any questions regarding application.

Transmitters are factory calibrated to provide specific water flow rates. Flow rates are generally expressed in liters per minute or gallons per minute. Special test equipment is required to calibrate Transmitters. Internal Transmitter adjustments must not be attempted by users. Any such adjustments will void the equipment warranty and may result in damage to the attached pipe system.

Larger diameter pipes require higher flow rates to produce a strong signal output. The three types of Transmitters are summarized in the Transmitter Type Summary table below:

Repairs

Heitman Laboratories is the manufacturer and the only authorized repair center for the RD500 Pipe Locating System, the Aquatrac 50 Pipe Locating System, the Aquatrac 100 pipe Locating System, as well as our private label lines, the Model P50 PipeTool™ and the Model P100 PipeTool™. We handle both warranty services and repairs for all of our Plastic Pipe Locator Systems and TransOnde Kits directly through our manufacturing facility.

At Heitman Labs we try to make the repair process as simple as possible for our end users regardless of which distributor they may have used for the original purchase of their pipe locating system.  We do not use Return Authorization Numbers on Repairs, so it is not necessary to contact us prior to returning an item for repair. However, we do need complete information from you along with your return so that we can handle your repair in the timeliest manner.
